In my Last Book, "Enough IS Enough" I stated that "there was a time when I lived according to my income. But today I live according to my assets, and my greatest asset is the voice of God."
This was demonstrated a few days ago.
I needed to replace a flat tire. The thread on the tire was as good as new. However, since I did not purchase the road hazard on the tire, I was prepared to pay for a new tire.
I drove over (with my spare) to the establishment where I purchased the tire and asked for the manager that I have had a long time relationship. To my surprise, I was told, he passed away 3 months ago. I was speechless.
I then turned to the new manager and asked him if he would offer a discount seeing that it is a brand new tire AND considering my customer loyalty. He told me to leave the tire and his technician would determine (first thing the next day) if the tire was repairable.
The next day I was told (over the phone):
a) The tire was irreparable
b) I would not receive any discount because I choose not to get the road hazard
The voice of God said, "go get your tire and go to another establishment" which I
knew sold discounted tires. As I drove into the new parking lot I heard the voice of God again, saying, " take your damaged tire out of the trunk." My logical mind said, "that's strange since the tire is irreparable." I obeyed, nonetheless.
Before I greeted the owner at the other establishment, she said to me, "are you here to repair or replace this tire?" The voice of logic was telling me to say replace, but the voice of God told me to say repair. As it turned out they were able to repair the tire and it only cost me $10.00.
I am reminded of Matthew 17:27
27"But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours."
I am sure you are familiar with this verse of scripture. Like the tire, the source of wealth was in the detailed instruction(s) from the voice of the Lord.
Kingdom wealth is not in the size of our bank account but in our obedience to His voice.
