Last week I listened to one of the most profound speeches I have ever heard about leadership. Two of the key points that were made in the speech included:
Lead from the front
Lead with headlights, not tail lights
These have stuck with me.
Taillights, are usually red and are placed at the rear of a vehicle, to warn other vehicles coming from behind.
Pride, arrogance and condescendence have entered into the heart of leaders, causing them tho lead with taillights (a legalistic mindset, pointing their followers to the keep their distance, warning and reminding them of the law, etc)
I pray that we, the generation for today will lead as headlights, (as a powerful Ray of Light, illuminating the road ahead for their followers).
This is only possible when we, the vehicle, acknowledge that this is not a call to a special group (Clergy, Government leaders, CEO, etc) but it is a call to the children of the Light to beam forth their light in whatever vocation they find themselves planted in.
