Which comes first.... the goose or the golden egg?
Likewise, which comes first courage or strength.
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1
I am becoming more and more aware of the power of the two-letter word, "Be."
If God commands you to Be a certain way, it will be pretty unfair on His part if He has not already equipped you to be that particular way, don't you think?
The word strong in the Hebrews lexicon means, "to be strong in your own strength." That is amazing to me. It doesn't just mean "to be strong," but to be strong in the strength, gift, calling that God has already equipped you with.
No wonder it is hard to be courageous when you are eying the strength of someone else.
