Trust (in the midst of conflict)

For years, this quote by Max Lucado has been one of my all time favorites:

"Conflict is inevitable, but combat is optional."

However, I never fully understood the power of Max's quote until I discovered another quote by Patrick Lencioni:

"When there is trust, conflict becomes nothing but the pursuit of truth."

Now Proverbs 3:5 finally makes sense:

Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

COMMENT:

It's inevitable that we will run into conflict. As long as we are breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide, we're going to run into conflict.

But when we trust in Him, with all our heart and we aren't leaning in on our own understanding, conflict becomes nothing but the pursuit of truth, and it matters not who has discovered or unveiled the truth.
